Thank you for your interest in CPRL/POSC 381Religion and Politics in the USA.
This course is cross-listed in CPRL and POSC. When the course is closed in POSC, simply register under CPRL. It is the same course and counts for the same credit of GE, Majors, and Minors.
This course fulfills General Education (GE) III.C.2 "Implications, Explorations, and Participatory Experience in the Social Sciences."
NOTE: (If you are a Major in Religious Studies, this course counts toward your nine units of upper division courses in Comparative Religion, but cannot count for GE. If you are a Major in Political Science, this course counts toward your eighteen units of electives for the major; since the home department for this course is CPRL and is cross-listed with POSC, it can also fulfill GE III.C.2 for POSC majors.)
Course Description: An examination of the relationship of politics and religion, especially in the U.S. The colonial and constitutional experience, Supreme Court decisions on religious issues, the principal theorists of moral discourse in the public forum. Contemporary issues of concern. Not available for graduate degree credit (CSUF Catalog).
