Thank you for your interest in CPRL 300 Methods of Studying Religion.
This course is primarily intended and required for students who are Majors or Minors in Religious Studies. This course is offered each Fall and should be taken in your Junior or Senior year.
All students must have completed CPRL 110 Religions of the World OR 105 Sacred Quest for Meaning (or an equivalent course from a Community College) and have junior or senior status to register.

In this course we will read a number of important authors for the study of religion. We will view religious studies as an academic discipline. We will look at the different ways religion is studied by history, sociology, psychology, phenomenology and anthropology.
