Two Wolves
An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them...  A fight is going on inside me... it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.  The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.  This same fight is going on inside you and every other person, too.   They thought about this for a minute, and then one child asked his grandfather...Which wolf will win?  The old Cherokee simply replied...  The one you feed.

"Cowardice asks the question, is it safe?  Expediency asks, is it polite?  Vanity asks, is it popular?  But conscience asks the question, is it right?  And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular -- but one must take it because it's right."   Martin Luther King, Jr.

"The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."

Moral cowardice that keeps us from speaking our minds is as dangerous to this country as irresponsible talk.  The right way is not always the popular and easy way.  Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character.

We trained hard, but it seemed every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized.  I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing , and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralization.
