Because this course is a five-week module requiring use of the computer classroom and high-end computers, it is important that you make every effort to attend each class, arriving on time, and using wisely the time allotted for independent work.
If you are attending this course in the online mode with iLinc MeetingLinc, it is important that you join the session ontime and take advantage of the interactive nature of the sessions. Your presence will detected through a participant list. Your instructor has the ability to glimpse as well as share your desktop to assist you with problems of a technical or conceptual nature. However,any remote activities in which you engage on the remote computer that are not associated with the class can also be detected and observed by the instructor. Therefore, please do pay attention and do not engage in other activities of a sensitive or confidential nature on your computer.
Although the presentation portions of the course will be recorded via iLinc and posted on the course website for later review, this is not a substitute for participation.
It is your responsibility to contact your instructor if you must miss class, according to the following guidelines:
If you must miss a class due to unavoidable conflicting activities (e.g., doctor’s appointment, job interview, etc.), documentation is required. You must notify your instructor at least one week in advance, so that arrangements may be made for you to make up any in-class activities and turn in your assignments.
If you must miss a class due to illness, personal tragedy or unavoidable emergencies, email your instructor, call or leave a voice mail with the Department as soon as possible and within two days thereafter.
